my bt dedicated internet with business protection etc order still not fulfilled over a year later

In April 2024 we agreed to have BT dedicated internet with business protection etc. After hearing nothing for ages i messaged again and a surveyor turned up and we agreed a plan for a duct to be run directly across the road. Since this time we have had several visits including the road being coned off for approx 3 weeks much to the annoyance of our neighbours but still no workers arrived. Eventually late one night the cones disappeared?

We then received another visit from some civil engineers who had a completely different plan which meant closing a main road around the corner from our premises and installing 4way traffic lights? I showed them the drawings which had been agreed and signed by our landlords and the guy replied oh that's a better idea, got in his van and disappeared.

After many many emails we have had reasons for the work not being done ranging from the original one of the work was nearly finished but we had a blocked duct? Interesting as nobody had done anything?

We are now being told that the highways department are continually changing their minds and cancelling the permits that they have issued. The biggest problem for us is that the work will block the main entrance to our premises so everytime we get a date we have to stop booking customers for the day to allow access only to find nobody turning up.

So my question is what do i do now? i am being told that it is unfortunate but i have to put up with it until it eventually gets done or i can pay just over £2000 to cancel because i will be in breach of the contract?

So my question is can anybody tell me the next route to take? do i go to the communications ombudsman? should i seek legal advice from a solicitor.

It is such a shame we entered this because we wanted the security of a telephone line that we could rely on and was sold on the fact that we would get help the same day if we needed it, and well that certainly hasnt been the case so far, so heaven knows what we would have to go through if we had a problem once it was installed.

But this was over a year ago and now i just want to forget the endless  emails and excuses and get on with my business.

I do wonder if we are the only ones?

Hi gaz652001

I'm sorry to hear about this. When you say dedicated internet, is it a private circuit/BTnet line?
