Hi We are a small charity radio station and cannot afford to change our phone systems to digital. we have got a Cisco ATA 192 ( because we couldnt get an anwer out of anyone at BT as to could we use the BT and EE Digital Voice Adapter for about £20 ) so we paid a fair bit for the Cisco unit. we have set it up as per BT instructions and it shows as the unit to use when we log in and select settings for our phone. It has what I assume is a digital dial tone ?However, we cannot make any calls out! Are there any other settings we need to make? If not can anyone help on how we can use our analogue phones? Appreciate any help / guidance!
Hi markb115
How strange, so you can receive calls to the handsets via the ATA but not make them? Did you buy the ATA from us?
What kind of router and network are you using? I'm not familiar with BT's digital service as we migrated to another provider about 7 years ago (and are considering migrating back) but I know it can be difficult to get VoIP to work behind a NAT router.
Hi Beth, sorry been out of touch with family for a while, now trying to catch up! we can make and receive calls on the cisco phone provided but nothing through the ATA unit apart from a low "dial" tone no calls in or out. We didnt get the ATA from BT, it was the only possible solution to our phone problem and found a setup guide using the ATA we have. I did notice on another post that someone else made, they said that to get the ATA to work required an engineers visit but as its not a piece of BT kit dont know if thats an option?
Hi markb115
So the Cisco phones we provided work fine but when you use your own ATA with your own DECT phones, they aren't working? Is that right?
Hi, yes thats it. there is a video from Bt that shows how to set the ATA up and we have done that. Also logged in to our account and it shows the Cisco ATA as discovered.
