I am wanting to give advice to elderly parents who have a business landline at the farm and are harassed by nuisance calls. Can this be set up on a business line?

Sorry to hear about those nuisance calls.
They are always a tricky thing to try and reduce but we do have several options which may be helpful. Firstly, we have call features such as barring witheld numbers, and our Choose To Refuse service which lets you bar incoming calls from up to 10 numbers on your line. If you wish to add these features, give us a call on 0800 800 152.
We would also advised registering your number with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service) to try and limit the amount of calls you recieve. You can find out more about them here.
Failing these options there are also specific handsets you can purchase, through ourselves or other manufacturers, which are designed to reduce the amount of nuisance calls recieved.
For scam calls, you can also report them on our website here to try and stop them at the source.
Lastly, if the nuisance calls move into harrassment or threatening calls it is always advisable to contact the police.
