Contact Forms & Sitemaps

Hi

I am currently in the process of building my e-shop and have a couple of queries:

1. I have created a page with my contact details on and I am also aware that I can put a page element in that is a link to the contact form. However, ideally I would like to be able to combine these two things e.g. have my address and phone number at the top of the contact form page or put a link to the contact form on my contact details page. Is it possible?

2. I have enabled the site map, but there does not appear to be an element to put a link to it in my shop. Do I have to use one of my user defined elements to do this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I've managed to solve the contact form issue but I still haven't found a solution to the site map.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Helena,

How did you resolve the Contact Form and Contact Details need?

With regards to the Sitemap - click on the Sitemap and then on the Visibility icon, this should tell you if it is visible in the Page Element- if not set it to Visible and it turn up automatically in the Main Page Element block.

Let me know if it worked

Hi

I got around the Contact Form thing by creating a Contact Details page. In the additional text box, I went to edit text, clicked on the 'insert / edit link' icon. I then selected Contact from the additional links drop down box.

My contact page now has my contact details plus a line at the bottom which says Contact us using this form, with the this form being a link which opens the contact form.

With the site map thing, yes setting the visibility does allow it to appear in the element block, but I don't want it to appear there, I want it as a link at the bottom of the page, but it is not available via the elements menu like other pages such as privacy policy or contact details are.

Hey, thanks - i thought you actually managed to combine the contact info and contact form - but need work around.  I ended up with two links both called Contact - then changed one to read Company which has the company info etc....

Seems the Sitemap is stuck in the element box...could see how to place it else where such as the footer....ho hum...

Hello Helena,

You can add the sitemap link with the "add link" function as navigation element in the advanced design option. Just go to advanced design, click on insert page element then go to user defined and choose "Link", then click insert. Normally the standard settings will do here. Link destination has to be set to "internal". Choose your sitemap (click on it). There are two additional options on the right side, open on new window and set attribute rel="nofollow" to yes or no.

Finally click on "Apply".

Hi

Thanks for the reply. I knew I could do it as a custom element, but I only have a limited number of those (is it 3?) and didn't want to use one up on a sitemap link - which really should be available as it is a standard page.

Guess I'll have to do without it 😞
