Email 365 upgrade - disgusted with BT!

Notiifed a week ago this was going to happen on 21st August, found today whe trying to manage email account (cancel forwarding) that email is now locked for 30 days!!! BT has started the upgrasde without telling me - now I have had to cancel holiday to try and resolve. Spoke to guy on IT Supoort desk who was very helpful (unlike any other person I have spoken to at BT over the past couple of days) and he has set the effective date for Monday - but why doesn't BT tell anyone what they are doiung or warn of the disruption to business email - I am disgusted with them.

Anyway - the question at least! - Has anyopne experienced any particular problem s when the upgrade compketes and coes live? I want to be prepared as I hope to get away for a fews of my holiday next week!!

Any advice gratefully recevied. My best advice to all is to forget the BT helpdesk, fault reports etc and go striaght to IT Support who actually seem to know what they are talking about and can get things done!

Hi,

Well the statement I posted was agreed by the Legal team, so you can go bug them with walls of text if you ever find out that Microsoft are doing unscrupulous things to your email.  La la land indeed?

As far as the rest of your post is concerned, other than putting in some space, I don't actually know. That's what contacting the Helpdesk is for.

In theory those 'useless' links should contain mostly correct information that the vast majority of people seem to be able to use without incident.  Why it isn't working for you would need to be looked into.

And since you're raking up my other posts, I'll bring up something else I posted elsewhere.  Separate your domain email and your ISP.  Go to a dedicated email provider who offers exactly what YOU want.  Or set up your own mail server.  That way you have total control over what happens to, and who handles, your email.

There are plenty of people on this forum who agree totally with you that the migration has been a disaster, and for them it has.  There are also plenty out there who have had no issues whatsoever.  Unfortunately they don't come here often to post about it.

I'm not going to post any links.  Why?  The information on settings is already a few posts up from here.  If Microsoft choose not to support their older programs then that's what they do.  Not really a lot I can do about that.

Dave

p.s. Locking this thread.  Nothing more that can really be said on the subject.
