Hello there,
I have two telephone lines to my business, one for the phones and the other I'd like to use - and I advertise as the FAX lnumber. Sadly none of the fax machines I've tried will work, the line is fine, it's been tested but the machines won't work.
As we all know it is difficult to get anyone on the phone and then they just transfer you around for a bit and I've been trying to resolve this since June. I currently have two emailled complaints logged and a request to leave but still no contact. Incredible....Anyway
So I've come to the conclusion that it may be the Featureline - the dial 9 for an outside line, so do I need to configure the faxes to this service? And if so, how do I do that?
On Featureline, how do I change it to standard? I was not given a choice and feel I've been missold, frankly BT if your products don't work why should I honour the contract? I've a fair bit of expensive advertising advertising the business as **** *** **** TEL and **** *** **** FAX and BT's services just don't provide. Has anyone else set this up satisfactorily, hey I'd do you a free frame in exchange for a working fax!!
Hi
I'm sorry no one on the forum could help with this. I have checked your account and can see you have been in touch with the telephone department to look into this further for you. I have sent you a private mail with the details and reference number for your records.
I hope you manage to get this issue resolved.
Kind Regards

Could I have that reference number please Fiona?
Hi
I sent you a private mail yesterday. In the forums on the top right hand corner you should see your forum controls, which includes a picture of an envelope. You should have (1) beside this. If you haven't received this, please let me know and I will resend the information.
Kind Regards

Does anyone know how to get a fax machine to work on voip.
We were told that it was possible when we ordered lines to be transferred that we could use a fax machine however dispite many phone calls to both BT and the fax machine help lines we are no nearer getting a working fax machine.
The fax cannot find either a dial tone or carry out a fax line condition test.
I am sorry, heightwise, if you have had no help with this via the helpdesk. Please contact the Broadband Voice helpdesk, Contact Us
They should be able to advise about setting up a FAX machine over VOIP
