For years we've had a rock solid 2.5Mb connection, but since around 10 days ago we are lucky to get the router syncing at 800k, and often it goes down to 400K.
We've had two BT openreach engineers visit, the first one could find no fault and blamed our router, so we bought a new one - there was no improvement. Second engineer called yesterday but could also find no fault on the line, and blamed our (new!) router. I suggested to him that maybe the problem was at the exchange, but he said that as he could see a signal he had no reason to request that the exchange equipment be checked.
I powered off my router this morning for 30 minutes, and when I reconnected it synced at 1800Kb, but then soon dropped down to 960Kb. Surely checking the exchange equipment is the now the most obvious thing to do? How can I get BT to do this?
I'd recommend that you Contact Us so we can troubleshoot this for you. I am sorry that you are having difficulty with your broadband.
