Hello, debsparkarea.  Unless you simply made a mistake, you may be encountering the issue discussed in this thread:

Internet Explorer 9

In any case, a domain name ending in .co.uk or .org .uk, assuming that the transfer was correctly requested and all processes were followed, will take around 24 hours to transfer.

For .com, .net and .org domains, assuming that all goes well and has been processed correctly, will take between 3-5 days.

No I didnt make a mistake,

BT made the mistake in not updating all the relevant pages when they changed how their site worked, and so I was pointed to an out of date and nonconnected transfer request page, which didnt work, no matter how many times I clicked on it.

And it took 3 days, and several emailsMan Mad

I am sorry that you had some difficulty with your domain transfer, debsparkarea.  It is resolved now, I trust?

If your domain has met all the necessary requirements, it can take as short as 3 business days for the transfer to complete. However, this is not a guarantee that it will happen to your domain transfer all the time. It also depends very much on your registrar's response to our transfer request. If they failed to respond or delayed the process it will be something beyond our control.

Thanks

The last post should actually be

IF you have managed to use an active page (and not one that is no longer used by BT even though you had been sent there by a link provided, and the non active page has still an online presence and does everything it was meant to, ie provides all the transfer buttons etc), then yes, it can take 48 hours!

However, if  one goes via a link that has been provided by bt and goes to a page that is no longer connected to the transfer a domain name  even though it appears to be, then you could wait until man walks on mars for it to happen.

Fortunately for me I gave up waiting and started complaining, and after explaining the same scenario 4 or 5 times, it did get resolved by staff who were suprised the page I used was still present online.

In the end I made a list of various pages that did not work, or had incorrect links.

Shame I wasnt paid for my efforts

Hi

I requested, through your website for a .co.uk domain name to be transferred away from BT on 11/10/13, as of 11.00am on 15/10/13 the transfer has still not taken place.

Is it usual for a transfer to take this amount of time?
