Hi,
In relation to previous comments on this topic, I contacted the BT helpline about this a few months ago and was told I could retain my btconnect address but only on agreeing to pay a fee of £4.50/month. Is this what DaveA means when he talks about 'setting the account to Pay as you Go status' ?
Hi,
No, as setting the account to PAYG just means you don't have any broadband on it any more.
The only reason you would be paying money to it would be if you have a service that's separate, for example web hosting, Organise and Share, etc.
If there are no paid for services then there shouldn't be any charge.
PM me the detals and I'll take a quick look at the account and see what's there.
Dave
Hi Dave,
I don't believe I have any additional services of the kind you mention. My BT Internet services a/c is WM <That's why I said PM - DaveA> - I'll be happy for you to check it out.
Thanks, sandpiper.
ps - I made a mistake in my earlier post - the fee requested was £4.50/month, not £5.00.
Hi,
I can see a domain on the account, but there doesn't appear to be any other service that would cost money on it.
I would contact Billing and get them to check what's currently on the bill.
Dave
Thanks again, Dave, I'll do as you suggest. But I have just had a look at my BT Account page and this says that I have no domaine names registered to my a/c. I did have one some time ago but I let it lapse over a year ago when I had no further need for it.
Re your other comment: I am new to this Forum game and I'm afraid I did not understand when you said 'PM me'. Where do I go to get updated on the jargon?
Hi,
That might be what the problem is.
And PM stands for Private Message. Different forums have different ways of doing it, but to send one here all you do is click on my username and it'll take you to my profile. You'll see an option to send a message. And if you get a message you'll see a small envelope in the upper right corner with 'x Unread' next to it.
