Number porting

Hi,

We have an a number of BT numbers which I understand it correctly are on different gateways which we would like to amalgamate together on our main ISDN lines with our Avaya phone system,  accept I've been told we cannot.

Let me explain.

The main line is an 0207 639 xxxx number on ISDN. The second is a 0207 732 xxxx number on aux multi-line, the third and forth numbers are a standard phone lines but on different gateways 0207 639 xxxx and 0207 732 xxxx.

I've been told the standard phone line on 0207 639 xxxx can be moved the ISDN lines and added as another DDI. The 0207 732 xxxx numbers cannot.

The two options I have been given is to either move them to BT Cloud and point them or automatically route them to a DDI on our ISDN lines. Or terminate them on the system.

I understand what the routing does i.e. calls come to our phone system on the routed number but uses make calls on a different number.

But what does it mean to terminate the number on the system? Can someone explain this to me?

"Terminate the number on the system" means to make the number ring a phone or similar on your phone system.  This is similar to your ISDN number terminating on your phone system.

So does that mean you can add it as another number like you can with DDI's?

In short yes but it will depend on your phone system.

Avaya make a lot of different systems.  As a minimum you will need to know the model number and if possible what cards it has inside.  How old is the system and do you have a the original quote/contract?
