uploading from publisher

BT are hosting my domain name and I want to upload my website creation from microsoft publisher.  I have gone through all the steps suggested on the bt help pages but when I type in the long ftp address into my browser it just refuses to load the page.

 I am using internet explorer 7 if it helps in the answer !!!!!!

The last version of IE to support FTP like this was IE6.

I would suggest using a proper FTP application like Filezilla instead of IE.

Filezilla is the best for FTP service.
