all,
i have a requirement to change the IP of the router to 172.17.1.253 with a submask 255.255.255.252.
I also need to turn DHCP off.
When i do this, the router always defaults to 192.168.1.254
Am i missing something.
I have a Meraki device that is 172.17.1.254 that is connected to the BT Smart Hub?
Hello!
To change your BT Smart Hub's IP to 172.17.1.253 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.252 and turn off DHCP, log in to the router's web interface (usually 192.168.1.254), update the LAN settings with the new IP and subnet mask, and disable the DHCP server. Save the changes and reboot the router. If it reverts to 192.168.1.254, ensure you apply the settings correctly and consider a factory reset or firmware update.
Why not put the Smart Hub in Bridge mode? Then it acts as a modem only and your router handles the routing?
Which Smart Hub is it V1, V2 or V3? I ask because I believe bridge mode is not yet available on the third gen hub.
