Static IP transfer from copper service to Full Fibre

Hi

I had my BT business copper service upgraded to Full Fibre two weeks ago and right from the start requested my static IP address that I have been using since the old service was installed over a year ago, to be transferred over to the new service. I was told all along that would be done at switchover.

After two weeks of chasing and excuses, our account manager now tells me that, 'you can’t transfer static IPs with broadbands', and I will have to use the different static IP that came with the new service.

Is that really true because to be honest I don't believe a word they say after this whole experience so far!

The original service is also still working with my old Static IP, which seems odd? I suspect we are being charged for two different services now rather than an actual upgrade? I have tried rebooting both routers at various points.

The original service was called 'Broadband Enhanced' on the original order and came over copper wires with typical ADSL type speeds of about 35Mb down/5Mb up. It uses a 'BT Business Smart Hub 2' and came with a 4G Hybrid device.

The new service had a new fibre installed to the premises and was called 'Full Fibre 500 (Hyperfast1) FTTP'. Although depending were you look BT seem to have different names for the same thing for some reason! This uses a 'BT Business Smart Hub 3'

I also ordered the 'Full Fibre Enhanced' product which includes the 4G hybrid backup. I queried this multiple times because the product name on the order was slightly different and I only received a router and no 4G device. I was told, 'it just had to be put though as that to get the best price'. They now also say I can just use the 4G hybrid device from the old service? Really will that even work and won't stop working when the old service is eventually cancelled?

Regards

Hi etocwel

It is correct there no way to move over static IPs.

In regards to the potential double charging, this would require someone to check on our side. I would also expect a new Hybrid Connect to be sent. Can you please send over a private message with your account details so I can query into this for you?
