redirecting BT connect email

Good Afternoon

 

I'm hoping someone can advise. I have tried to research myself but it hasnt really helped with a definitive answer.

I amm not very gifted when it comes to technology.

I am looking to change provider, however we have a BT connect email. The new company are assuring me that it is as simple as redirecting the mail to another email which they will help with. However what i have read so far suggests there is no way to keep the BT connect email.

 

If we have the mail directed will this continue to work even after the BT account is closed?

No, once the mailbox is closed, the forwarding rule will also cease. Your mailbox will be marked for deletion once you terminate the associated BT Business services.

BT Connect email addresses can’t be retained once the BT Business account they’re tied to is closed.

 

If you need to keep receiving email sent to that address, the only reliable solution is to set up a new mailbox elsewhere and update any services, suppliers, customers or mailing lists to use the new email before the BT account closes.

 

In the event you need to keep the btconnect email address live - your option is to renew the broadband product on your BT business account.
