Today I got a call from a Scammer claiming to be British Telecom
He first asked me what package I was running 🚩 so I told him it was super fast gigabit fibre. He then told me to visit the BT Wholesale Speed Checker and pointed out the slow upload speed and offered to apply “security router updates” 🚩 and attempted to use the Microsoft Quick Assist utility to gain remote access to the laptop. I terminated the call but I could hear them shouting at others to enter in the quick access code.
BT will never call you out of the blue to gain remote access to your machine. This is a scam plain and simple and I wanted to highlight it.
