Had fibre installed a month or so ago. Learnt that we had lost our number/line. Acording to Sky BT had "cancelled" number and number was "lost". My wife and I have wasted a lot of our time trying to get this resolved being directed from "pillar to post", with no-one taking resposibility. We have been told that the number is still there in the "ether" but no-one seems to be able to help. At wits end.
Need this fixed, any ideas out there?

That sounds really frustrating — if the number is still recoverable, push for an official “number porting” request through Sky or BT escalations, as only their provisioning team can restore it.
