Please could anyone offer advice. I seem to be going round in circles with BT and AIB merchant services about a failed pci scan.
Im honestly not a tech buff atall, and my knowledge is limited.
The pci scan run by AIB merchant services has failed due to a port 7547 being open. Bt has assured me there are no ports open, and no idea what AIB are on about.
Ive found an old post on here from 2018/2021 saying this is the port allocated to smart hubs for BT to update software etc. and its not a security threat,
Is this still the same situation now as i need to confirm that this port cant communicate with the card machine that is on the business line.

Hi joebar0
Yes, the port 7547 can't be closed on the Smart Hub as it is required for firmware updates 🙂 It has zero risks for a PCI compliance check, no security risks to yourself or your network/equipment
In case anyone else finds this post looking for the same issue for a different BT Business router model, here's the ports for the others:
The ports for Hub 2701 is 50,001 & 3479
The ports for hub 3 and 5 are 161 & 4567
The ports for the Smart Hub are 7547
Smart hub 2 is 8085
Hi joebar0
What router is it you are using?
Hi Beth,
We have the BTBusiness smart hub - Type A.
Thanks
