I am unable to modify a user's profile as the modify button is missing from that section. I am an Administrator, how can I amend a name without having to cease a user and redo their settings?

It sounds like it's possible that the user you're trying to modify is in an error state. When modify orders for user profiles are made if the email that has been entered is incorrect or there is an issue sending to the email this can go into an error state that removes the modify button, this also happened with accounts that went through the portal migration. If they are not in an error state and the button is not showing it is possible your admin access doesn’t have the level of access required to change that user, for instance if you're a site admin you wouldn’t be able to modify a company admin.
