I have ordered a new business line and broad band and asked for 2 voip lines at the same time. I have realised that I meant to order hosted voip rather than the "ordinary Voip" apparently I need a minimum of 3 lines for hosted which is fine I can have 3 lines instead of 2. But i cannot get to speak to anybody who knows how to amend the order. I have now phoned 5 times and had 2 ringbacks and still I am no further forward in getting this resloved. It seems to me that most of the rest of BT don't understand VOIP. Does anybody have a contact number that they think might be able to help with this? The technical VOIP people say than can only help with issues once the service is up and running.
If anybody with hosted voip wants to comment on how good or otherwise the service is that would be great.
Thank you.
Hi NewmanAgent
Your Hosted voip account has now been order and setup and this information has been sent to you.

Sean rang me and................... everything is sorted!! Sean for President! Obviously I had to tell him off for having taken a long weekend just when I needed him but as he has sorted it all out I have forgiven him. He placed the order for the hosted voip, I have the numbers ready for when the shopfit is finished and I can get my signage manufactured and I can get my stationery ordered. It is so wonderful when you have been banging your head against a wall dealing with people who don't know what they are doing to have the problem solved and dealt with. I don't know who decided that BT local business should be farmed out to separate private companies that use the BT brand. My experience with Coastel in Plymouth has been appalling. Not a sound from them today. No contact. No concern that it was their incompetence that had lead to my frustration at not being able to progress the hosted voip order. So its not true that BT local business centres are the only people who can action hosted voip orders. Sean can!
I have set up the office communicator and used it on my home computer. Next week, when I am able to connect the computers and phones in the office. I will report back here on the day to day functionality of hosted voip. It should be a great system and a lot cheaper than a traditional switch. Hopefully that will help with the "Voip - good or evil" thread on this forum.
I will update my thread later but so far I can't even get a price. I look at your thread and think analogue phones might still be the future.
Be interested to know your performance experiences though
