Identity theft used to set up a business account in my name

My identity has been stolen by a thief who set up a business account with BT, perhaps to intercept kit ordered to my address(?). I have received late payment notices for services and/or kit I have not ordered (I do not subscribe to any BT services), the most recent of which is a threat to refer the debt to a collection agency.

 

There is no apparent way to contact anyone over this. Online staff say they cannot proceed without confirming the email registered to the account, which of course would be the thief's, not mine. I have been directed to BT consumer scam pages which have nothing to do with business fraud or threats of escalating to collection agencies for debts I have had nothing to do with. 

Who do I contact?

Hi, I have exactly the same problem and cant find anyone that can help! I get sent to customer services in India that dont seem to understand.

I am now getting calls and mail from Debt collection service. HELP

hi, I am also struggling to resolve this problem. A business account has been set up with my name and address used fraudulently. Multiple calls to several departments have gone nowhere. Two letters of complaint sent by registered mail have not been replied to. I am now being written to by a debt agency. Please respond and resolve, many thanks
