My wifi connection is horrible, it takes forever to download anything and i cant seem to do any work at all, things keep lagging and just stopping.
I have no idea how to fix it, help.
I have done the quiet line test on the phone and there was no noise at all. What does this mean?

Which hub do you have? Which service do you have? Can you connect your hub/router to the Master Socket so that all other devices are disconnected? I don't work for BT but have sorted all my problems over decades as an internet user.

But which service from BT do you have? Have you tried connecting a computer to the hub directly with an ethernet cable?

Do you have BT Infinity. Is it FTTC or FTTP? Or DSL?

As Kelper mentions have you tried with ethernet cable directly. This will help you understand if its a Wi-Fi problem or an overall speed problem.

Why not say what you have tried? Are asking for help or just musing? 😁

Try these steps
Use the BT broadband troubleshooter.
Make a call on your landline.
Restart your BT Hub.
Check the lights on your Hub.
Power cycle your Openreach modem (fibre customers).
Try your test socket – this is the main phone socket in your home
